i asked the question in the Yahoo answer and the follows were the reply by the americans.

Why the US goverment usually support bad politicians?

1. Saddam Hussein. the american gov supported him to be the president of IRAQ but killed him at last .

2, dalai lama. when he controled the tibet nearly 95 percent of the totally potulation there were slaves. why america support such a slave owner?

3, the japanese emperor was a crimenal in wwII. why american don't suited him after the war?

4, 2001, the US goverment give taliban 245 million dollars

Report It

  • 1) US supported Saddam trying to couter Iran, poor move
    2) You do not know what you are talking about. The Dali is not even a ruler, he is a spiritual leader and there NEVER were any slaves there. You are 100% wrong
    3) The USA never supported the Emporor. Again yoiur facts are in error.
    4) Again facts in error. PRIOR to 2001 the USA gave funds to some elements in Afghan. to counter the Soviets.

You need some education son. Read taliberal literature is not education.

Good luck on your quest to find anti-USA info. I would guess you support Obama and his gang of 5.
  • The US government has a long history of backing some of the most brutal dictators and nefarious characters if they fit some short term agenda. Never is what is right considered, only what looks good now.
  •

You pick the lesser of two evils. In Saddam's case for example we hated Iran and he went to war with them.

Its not about doing what is right, it never is. Its about protecting our interests.

Supporting the people you mentioned at the time was in our interests.

The problem comes from the fact that the US usually, but not always, wants foreign leaders to betray their own people in the interest of American corporations. Not even the American people, or the common American interest, but for American corporations that make campaign contributions to our politicians. So you are automatically selecting dishonest, disreputable people that the US wants to lead other countries we have dealings with. It never works our for either their own long term interests, or America's. I did not know about Tibetans being slaves under the Dalai Lama--that is news to me, but still, aren't Tibetans eager to have his authority restored? Look at all the tyrants we have supported--the Shah. We overthrew a democratically elected leader, Mossadegh, in Iran. He wanted to use the country's oil revenues to help his own country. So we replaced him with our puppet, the Shah, who sold out his own people and sparked radical Islam's anti-Americanism. Even today the so called "press" relentlessly propagandizes that Hugo Chavez in Venezuela is a brutal tyrant--he, too, wants to use his country's oil revenues for the benefit of his own people, not to benefit American oil company-campaign contributors. The "press" is worse than worthless, we would be much better off without that band of professional liars. It is all coming to an end. The economy is collapsing. The corrupt supreme court has flushed the Constitution down the toilet and installed the most incompetent, corrupt
  • There is no bad or good. Only national interest is the government's concern (assume there is no corruption).

    1. US Supported Saddam Hussein to fight against Iran, because at that time Iranian government is very anti-America.

    2. US support Dalai Lama because China is growing stronger, Dalai Lama is used by US government as a tool to defame China and if they do successfully separate Tibet from China, then US will set a military base there to contain China.

    3. Japanese emperor was a war criminal, but American want to use him as a tool to control Japan, that's why they pardoned
    the emperor.

    4.
We wanted Iraq & Iran to beat each other down so one or both would be easier gain control of to give to the oil companies as we are doing right now.

For 2, we support the Dalai Lama for the same reason China supports North Korea: they are a thorn in our butt. We make China look bad and have to expend effort internally that they could have used internationally.

Supporting the Japanese emperor was pragmatic, to get the maximum cooperation from the Japanese during the occupation and use the existing power structure. Also, once we had beaten them, they were eager to join us to avoid Soviet occupation.
  • First of all US government is out to make money. It was decided that all these actions would help make money.

    1. Controlling oil fields in the mideast.

    2. America does not oppose slavery. They enslave us increasingly with rising taxes. The percent of our labor they take always increases, never decreases. Especially when we get a raise but over time with the same pay as well. This is called "progressive" taxation. It progresses through raises and over time it is a process of enslavement.

    3. The emporer surrendered and agreed to cooperate including allowing US militarty bases to be built all over Japan. America can protect its ability to make money from these bases.

    4. Paying the Taliban was a relatively cheap bribe. The US built a oil pipeline going through Afganistan from the north and what they make far outweighs the affordable 245 million. Besides the 245 mil. came from the taxpayers and the money they make is not going to the taxpayers, we are actually being charged three times as much for fuel now.
